I'm Back! Surprised?

So... maybe I shouldn't have promised that I would post every few days.  At any rate, I am, in fact, back posting so not all bad, right?  Quick side note: I envy my fellow blogging g-friends with babies/ young children.  Want to get a quick blog note out? Post pictures of the babes.  Done.  Me? I have cats that live with E in Boston and no cute babies and if I post photos of me I'll come off as real self-involved, right?  I guess having a blog already gets me to that...  Sigh.

Anyway, I'll just talk briefly about being long distance from E.  This will most certainly be a recurrent theme over the next few months.  A few nights ago (maybe a little over a week?), we talked about how many days we were going to be apart and a fun way to keep track of the dwindling days.  Well, we were inspired by a somewhat depressing email from my FiL about a man and a jar of marbles counting down the Saturdays he had left in his life.  Sad thought, right?  So, we decided (well, I came up with the idea and pitched it to E) to keep track with a jar of beads.  Marbles would be too $$ and too bulky.  So, I went on ebay and ordered a bunch of beads.  I promise as soon as they arrive from China (and don't hold your breath), I'll post a photo of them.  Erik even made the suggestion that I send him a photo every morning of the beads... I don't think we'll do that mostly because you won't notice 1 bead missing from, say, 1,014!  That's right, folks.  Our goal is to be living in the same place (wherever that may be) by September 1, 2013.  Coincidentally, it's the day before my 30th—no pressure, Erik!

It's hard to imagine that length time, honestly.  On Thursday, I'll be traveling home to Cambridge (and trying to avoid Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade traffic).  It will be our nine year anniversary of dating.  It's just insane.  At that point, I'll have been with the man for 1/3 of my life!  So, to celebrate that little miracle, here's a photo I took with a street sign of our name whilst exploring Brooklyn yesterday. Apologies in advance for the bad picture quality and bad hair.
Also, in case you feel like being jealous, here's a photo of the sunset from my office (again, try to ignore the bad photo quality—I'm really bad at taking photos on my phone!).  And, yes, that's Jersey and the Hudson.
