30 Before 30: #5 Accomplished

SO #5 can be officially designated as MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!  It's super exciting!  I cannot believe that this particular goal was achieved in record time.   Erik and I initially thought that living together before 30 was a reasonable goal.  A goal that was probably going to be achieved but may potentially not be achieved.

Well, none of that matters because on August 31, 2011, Erik moved to NYC in preparation for our ultimate move to Palo Alto, CA.  We spent our first evening back together with me agonizing over an ill-received negotiation call with a potential firm, then me talking to the partner at said firm and feeling like there was no way I was going to work there, finally deciding on where I was actually going to work (yay!!!!!), ordering dinner in (scallops and filet medallions, anyone?), drinking fabulous wine and just settling into our routine as though the last 11 months of distance didn't even happen.  A fitting evening.  Just so happy.
