Over the weekend, I discovered a fabulous blog of a sorority sister of mine from undergrad. She is biking across the United States as part of Big Ride Across America 2011 for the American Lung Association. It's the kind of thing that makes you proud to know the person. She's already surpassed her fundraising goal and has raised almost $2 a mile! Ashley is on day 11 of her 48-day adventure, and I can't wait to read about how the rest of it goes. Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to take 7 weeks and do something like this?
At any rate, what does this have to do with my #19, "Complete 30 acts of kindness/ charitable endeavors/ volunteer events"?, you might ask. Well, I donated to Ashley's fundraising campaign! Besides being truly inspired by Ashley, I think about how both of my dad's parents died of lung cancer and my brother is afflicted with asthma. Every little bit helps.
